This year was one of my worst fantasy football years of my life. I normally play 5-8 leagues each year. I decided to cut that down and only played 4 leagues. All 4 of these leagues cost me to enter and provide prizes to the winner.
I normally make the playoffs in almost every league. This year… 1 out of 4. OUCH!
To make it worse, it could have easily been 2 out of 4. In one of them, I just had to win this past week and I was in. I had a huge lead going into last night’s game. He had 3 Miami players playing, down by almost 50 points. He had Tannehill (QB), Landry (WR), and Miller (RB). He edged me by less than a point.
The recap of that devastating loss. 🙂
Bearcats slipped by Ball Hawks 98.74 to 98.48 to remain undefeated against them, and in the process, clinch a playoff spot. Their overall record goes to 8-6, while Ball Hawks drops to 7-7. Ball Hawks isn’t an easy win for Bearcats, whose a 5.33-point average margin of victory against Ball Hawks is way less than their season-average margin of victory. Lamar Miller scored two touchdowns and was the determining factor this week, grabbing 20.90 points for Bearcats. Backed by the incredible game, the Miami RB has moved into the top five for running backs, putting up 12.58 points per game.
Ball Hawks had one important starter that let some chances slip away. Even though Stefon Diggs saw a total of seven targets, he only reeled in two catches.
Since Miller was the top point-getter for Bearcats, it means a different player has led the team in each of the last four weeks. With 16.00 points, Julio Jones paced the squad in Week 11, while Ryan Tannehill (22.04 points) was tops in Week 12 and Demaryius Thomas (12.10 points) last week.
Oh well. At least I have 1 shot at a championship still.
Here’s the line up for my team in the playoffs.
QB – Aaron Rodgers
RB – Doug Martin
RB – Matt Jones
WR – Julio Jones
WR – Amari Cooper
TE – Charles Clay
WR – Martavis Bryant
K – Dustin Hopkins
DEF – Philadelphia Eagles
QB – Ryan Tannehill
RB – Ameer Abdullah
RB – Andre Ellington
RB -Rashad Jennings
RB – Jeremy Langford
I think I am going to check out the waiver wire for a TE and DEF.
Overall, I think I blame Draft Kings for my poor performance in these leagues. I think I concentrated on that too much. That wasn’t a bad thing though. I have played 14 weeks of NFL Football with my initial deposit of $250. I stayed even money most of the season and just dipped under $100 this week. I have been winning my money back almost ever week. Perhaps the last couple of weeks will put me back at even money or better!
